KDR Resin – New Manufacturing Plant

THE CHALLENGE...

KDR Resin had just opened their second plant and built it around an automated mixing and bagging system that almost no other floor resin manufacturer in the country can match. A serious investment, and one they had every right to be proud of. Their brief had two jobs to do at once. The film had to communicate the scale, the speed, and the precision of what the machinery actually does, and it had to carry a quiet bit of swagger underneath it all. A look at what we've built, and a reminder of why that puts us ahead of the rest of the sector. They wanted a hero film of around two minutes to anchor the campaign, plus three short cuts they could use across social. The challenge was making automation feel cinematic. Machines doing what they're built to do can read as cold or clinical on screen, and we needed it to feel impressive, alive, and unmistakably theirs.

THE SOLUTION...

The simplest decision was the strongest one. Let the machinery do the talking. Without dialogue or interviews to worry about, we built the day around camera coverage and angles, choosing positions that no one walking the floor would normally see. Cameras went inside the machines, up high above the line, and rigged into tight spots where a standard setup would never fit. We worked across a range of bodies to get there. The C300 for the wide hero shots, the C70 for the close work, and a DJI Osmo Action for the spaces nothing else could reach. A clean two-light setup gave us consistent shape and contrast throughout, without dressing the plant into something it isn't. With no sound to capture on the day, the team could move freely and stay focused on catching the moments where the process actually showed itself. The hero film carried the scale and the flex, and the three shorts pulled out the most striking sequences so KDR had cut-down versions ready to land on social without losing any of the impact.
