Empire Fitness – New Gym Launch
THE CHALLENGE...
Empire Fitness had just made a serious investment. Their gym and their boot camp used to live in separate buildings, and they'd brought everything under one roof so members could do both in the same space. They wanted a film that announced the change properly. Built for social, energetic enough to stop a scroll, and honest about what training at Empire actually feels like. Two things had to come through at the same time. People genuinely enjoy themselves here, and they also turn up to work. Get the balance wrong in either direction and you end up with a film that misrepresents the gym. Too playful and it looks like nobody breaks a sweat. Too intense and you lose the community that makes the place what it is. The job was to show fun and effort sitting side by side, in a single film, in a format short and punchy enough to hold attention on a feed.
THE SOLUTION...
We leaned into bold, contrast-heavy lighting and pushed the brand's green and orange tones through every scene, so the film felt unmistakably Empire from the first frame. Each shot was set up deliberately rather than grabbed. We blocked the lighting, repositioned for the angle, and only rolled when the frame was earning its place. Close-ups carried the effort. The sweat, the focus, the moment a rep gets hard. Dolly moves and motion through the space kept the energy alive and gave the film a constant sense of forward push. Cutting between the boot camp side and the gym side stitched the two worlds together visually, so the message landed without anyone having to say it out loud. The result is a film that moves quickly, looks distinct on a feed, and shows Empire as a place where people work hard, enjoy it, and get results.
